The Centro Cultural Espírita do Funchal (CCEF) is a non-profit association affiliated with the Federação Espírita Portuguesa (FEP), established in Funchal since 2003. Its aim is the study and dissemination of Spiritism, as well as assisting everyone in need.  

“A spiritist center is a philanthropic entity that develops its activities based on the Spiritist Doctrine.”[1]

“The Spiritist Center is truly a convergence point for the entire doctrinal dynamic. It is where neophytes begin, mediums reveal themselves, Spirits communicate, children and adults are educated, the obsessed find liberation, the Doctrine is studied in its theoretical and practical aspects, social assistance is provided to all in need without impositions and discriminations, and pure fraternity is cultivated, opening the portals to the Future”[2]

In the preamble of the work entitled “What is Spiritism?”, Allan Kardec, the decoder of the Spiritist Doctrine, gives us the following explanation:

Spiritism is simultaneously a science of observation and a philosophical doctrine. As a practical science, it consists in the relations that can be established with spirits. As a philosophy, it entails all the moral consequences that result from such relations.

Hence, it may be defined as follows:

The Spiritism is the science of the nature, origin and destiny of the Spirits, as well as of their relation with the corporeal world.

Monday - gospel reading and laying-on of hands. We are open to the public from 19:30 to 20:15.  

Tuesday - online study group. For more information, please contact us.

Thursday - public lecture at 20:00. We are open to the public from 19:15 to 21:00.

Saturday - spiritist studies at CCEF. For more information, please contact us.

Assistance -  every Monday, starting at 20:00, after the lecture, on a first-come, first-served basis.
